Congratulations to Tomos Wyn – or as we like to call him, Tomorotti! A much-loved founding member of Johns’ Boys and a dedicated first tenor, Tomos delivered two remarkable performances at this year’s Eisteddfod Môn in Beaumaris, taking home first prize in both the Main Solo and Welsh Solo competitions.
For the Main Solo, he performed ‘O Maiden, My Maiden’ from Franz Lehár’s opera Frederica, impressing adjudicators with his control and expression. He followed it with a beautiful rendition of ‘Y Bugail’ by Wilfred Jones for the Welsh Solo – a performance that moved many in the audience.
Tomos is currently studying with vocal coach Brian Hughes and is now preparing for the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham this August. We’re incredibly proud – llongyfarchiadau, Tomos!
