Guest Artists

Sioned Terry

Having gained her BMus and Dip.Tech Perf. At Bangor University, Sioned Terry went on to establish a career as a versatile soloist. Sioned has shared the stage with internationally renowned artists, musicians, much loved entertainers and choirs throughout the UK and abroad.  Sioned has toured the country as the musical component of large-scale commercial variety shows as well as with smaller theatrical companies and in 2019 she enjoyed her debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall with the classical crossover trio, ‘Athena’.

To her credit Sioned has many televised performances, both recorded and live, two commercially released solo recordings, the most recent, ‘Nefoedd’, on the ‘Ty Cerdd’ label and the ‘Encore’ disc, on the Sain label with ‘Athena’. The former enjoyed air play on BBC Radio 3 whilst the latter recording continues to prove popular with the classical crossover audience.

Sioned has multiple high-profile engagements to her credit including performances for members of the royal family, for Olympic athletes at international sporting events and a special performance for the Welsh Commonwealth Games team.

Sioned is in regular demand for corporate events, concerts and classical musical festivals but alongside her busy and varied schedule, she has cultivated a keen interest and passion for female composers and following her delivery of a lecture recital on Clara Schumann at the International Conference on Women’s  Work in Music in 2019 and a staging of Grace Williams’, ‘Lovely Gift Of The Gab’ under Welsh National Opera, Sioned was subsequently invited to give a recital focussing  on the works of Welsh composers  Morfydd Owen,  Dilys Elwyn-Edwards and Grace Williams at last year’s conference along with renowned pianist Iwan Llewelyn-Jones. Subsequently both Sioned and Iwan Llewelyn-Jones have enjoyed giving further recitals, highlighting Welsh and in particular Welsh women’s music at festivals, including the Conwy Classical Music Festival last July.

Recent performance credits for Sioned include Handel’s ‘Messiah’ alongside the Swansea Philharmonic Choir and The British Sinfonietta at The Brangwyn Hall and as a guest solo artist with Morriston Orfeus Choir and a performance of William Mathias’s ‘This World’s Joie’ under the baton of Gwyn L. Williams.

Although Sioned enjoys the concert and recital stages, she has been equally at home touring with niche shows, such as the 5 star reviewed production of ‘I Loved You and I Loved You’ with Sweetshop Revolution. She also toured with the late Sir Ken Dodd, bringing the musical interlude of his shows to audiences of thousands across the U.K.

Sioned is also a published composer with three of her songs ‘The Angels’ Praise’ published by Curiad Music and her setting of Walter de la Mare’s ‘Music’ for SSAATTBB was premiered at the Brandenburg choral festival in London in 2017. Alongside her interest in songwriting,  Sioned is an avid lover of The American Songbook and whenever possible, will include some of these beautiful songs in her concert repertoire.
