Our recent concert at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, was a very special evening for everyone involved. Performing to our largest audience of the year so far, with an incredible 1,370 people in attendance, made the occasion all the more memorable.
From the opening note to the final applause, the warmth and enthusiasm from the audience created a wonderful atmosphere in the hall. It was a privilege to share an evening of music with so many familiar faces, as well as those joining us for the first time.
As always, one of the highlights for the choir was meeting audience members after the concert. We are continually humbled by the stories people share with us and the distances many travel to attend our performances. Your support means more than you know and continues to inspire everything we do.
One story that particularly touched us was that of Lara, who travelled all the way from Italy to be with us. After flights, trains and taxis, she arrived in Llandudno, where she stayed for a week to enjoy the area and attend the concert. For the past year, Lara has also been learning Welsh with our very own Berwyn, so it was a real pleasure to chat with her in Welsh after the performance. To make the experience even more memorable, Lara travelled back to Llangollen with the choir on the choir bus after the concert! We are incredibly grateful that she made such a remarkable journey to support us. It is moments like these that remind us just how far the music of Johns’ Boys can travel and of the wonderful community that has grown around the choir.
Lara’s journey is a wonderful reminder of how music can bring people together across countries and cultures. Rather than us telling her story, we thought we’d let Lara share her experience in her own words:
“Hello everyone! I’m Lara from Italy. On 20 June, I attended my first (and certainly not my last!) Johns’ Boys concert in Llandudno.
About a year ago, I came across a video of Johns’ Boys performing on Britain’s Got Talent on social media. It was love at first sight! I immediately checked the website, hoping they might be coming to Italy. When I realised they weren’t, I decided I couldn’t wait any longer, so in September I bought my ticket for the Llandudno concert and planned my whole holiday around it.
It was absolutely worth the journey. I think I forgot to breathe during the concert! The sound, the blend of voices – everything was perfection.
I’d also like to thank Aled and all the lads for their kindness. Travelling back to Llangollen with the choir on the bus after the concert made the whole experience even more special.
So, if you live outside the UK and are thinking about coming to one of their concerts, do it! You won’t regret making the journey.”
Some audience members may have noticed cameras around the auditorium during the concert. We were delighted to be filming throughout the evening as part of an exciting new music video project. With such a fantastic audience and a packed auditorium, Venue Cymru provided the perfect setting for the filming. We can’t reveal too much just yet, but we look forward to sharing more details in the coming months. Watch this space!

I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to perform with Johns’ Boys at Venue Cymru. It was an incredible experience to be part of, and seeing the theatre completely full made it even more special. It felt like the perfect way to thank our home crowd for all the support they’ve given us over the years.
