How long have you been a member of Johns’ Boys?

7 years. 

What inspired you to join the choir?

The energy, the camaraderie, and the chance to be part of an amazing-sounding male voice choir!

Do you have any musical background or experience before joining?

Absolutely – I’m a vocal coach, both privately and in schools. I’ve had singing and piano lessons for many years. 😊

What’s your favourite song to perform with the choir and why?

There Is Nothing Like a Dameit’s such great fun and always gets a laugh. The audience loves it, and so do we!

What has been the most memorable performance or event for you?

Performing on Britain’s Got Talent – nothing tops that experience! 

How would you describe the camaraderie within the choir?

I love it – it’s brilliant to be surrounded by people with the same passion. There’s always laughter and support.

What’s the biggest challenge of being in a choir like Johns’ Boys?

Staying sharp and making sure you know your part – we have to be ready for anything that comes our way.

Do you have a pre-performance ritual or superstition?

Lip trills – a great way to warm up the vocal cords and lips before we sing. 

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

The West End – and being in Johns’ Boys actually made that dream come true!

What are you most excited about for the choir’s future?

Reaching new audiences, performing in incredible venues, and making memories with my mates that’ll last a lifetime. 

How has being part of Johns’ Boys impacted you personally?

It’s had a massive impact. Singing with like-minded people helps me leave worries behind and focus on something positive and uplifting.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining a choir?

100% do it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity you won’t find anywhere else! ❤️
