How long have you been a member of Johns’ Boys?
Since the very beginning.
What inspired you to join the choir?
A love of history and tradition – I’ve always felt connected to the heritage of male voice choirs.
Do you have any musical background or experience before joining?
Yes – I was a member of a male voice choir prior to joining Johns’ Boys.
What’s your favourite song to perform with the choir and why?
Morte Christe – it brings back so many powerful memories, and the tenor part is absolutely haunting.
What has been the most memorable performance or event for you?
Brangwyn Hall – a stunning venue with an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.
How would you describe the camaraderie within the choir?
Excellent. There’s a real sense of brotherhood and support that makes being part of the group special.
What’s the biggest challenge of being in a choir like Johns’ Boys?
Always pushing yourself to keep learning and improving – it’s demanding, but that’s what makes it rewarding.
Do you have a pre-performance ritual or superstition?
I do… but I’m not telling you!
If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
The Sydney Opera House – it’s always been a dream of mine to visit and perform there.
What are you most excited about for the choir’s future?
Everything. The journey we’re on is incredible, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
How has being part of Johns’ Boys impacted you personally?
It’s brought me back to music – something I truly missed in my life.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining a choir?
Do it. If you’re willing to put the effort in, you won’t regret it for a second.
