David Hardy

Name: David Hardy

How long have you been a member of Johns’ Boys?

Since 2025.

What inspired you to join the choir?

Singing is my way of meeting new people and enjoying music together, as well as being an opportunity to blast out some notes!

Do you have any musical background or experience before joining?

I grew up in Mold, North Wales as part of a musical family. I joined my primary school choir, then local community choirs, and haven’t stopped since.

What’s your favourite song to perform with the choir and why?

My favourite piece at the moment is “The Impossible Dream”. It has a lovely sentiment, and I can’t get enough of the harmonies!

What has been the most memorable performance or event for you?

I have loved every second of being a part of Johns’ Boys.

How would you describe the camaraderie within the choir?

Everyone is always friendly and there is such a great atmosphere that is wonderful to be a part of.

What’s the biggest challenge of being in a choir like Johns’ Boys?

Although my life seems full of music, playing the flute, piccolo and saxophone as well as singing, I am also working hard at 4 A Levels and planning to study Maths and Physics at University. Quite a jump from performing for a theatre full of people!

What are you most excited about for the choir’s future?

I am looking forward to the year ahead, singing in theatres and even cathedrals across the UK.

How has being part of Johns’ Boys impacted you personally?

When Johns’ Boys visited my school, it wasn’t just another choir to join, it was an opportunity to experience something totally new, and after just my first rehearsal practising for the Eisteddfod, I became absolutely sure that I wanted to make this a big part of my life.
